About

The Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY) Craft Fair & Silent Auction has been around for over a decade. In 1996 when funding for the SEOTY program began to dwindle, the resourceful staff of Student Employment & Cooperative Education searched for new ways to continue to recognize outstanding student employees. Our first fund raising event was created to supplement scholarship awards and provide needed program support. With limited space, resources and 16 vendors, the first SEOTY Craft Fair was launched with great success.

Over the years, participation and interest has steadily increased as program funding continued to decline. In 2000, fund raising efforts expanded to include a silent auction. The event proceeds guarantee that the top four (4) nominees will receive scholarship awards and that all program costs are covered.

The SEOTY Craft Fair & Silent Auction continues to grow. The event now has its own website. All auction items are now displayed online! With a quick click, shoppers can view items, see certificates and verify winnings without leaving their desks.

Today, the campus community looks forward to the yearly event, held the Friday before Thanksgiving. It is a perfect time for campus crafters to display their handiwork, for you to do a little Christmas shopping and everyone to join in the excitement of winning a bid for a fantastic auction item.
