2009 SEOTY Winners
Keri Goto is the 2009 Student Employee of The Year-Overall Winner. She is a Student Assistant at the East West Center Foundation and was nominated by Gary Yoshida, Development Officer; Elizabeth Kuioka, Development Assistant; and James Kia, Administrative Assistant. Keri is majoring in Accounting and received a $750 cash scholarship and represented UH M?noa at the state-level of the Student Employee of the Year competition. Her name is placed on the President’s Trophy and is on display in the Center for Career Development & Student Employment lobby.
Kaori Ueki is our category winner for the 2009 Student Employee of The Year award and is the Grants Manager for the Graduate Student Organization (GSO) at the Student Life and Development department. She was nominated by Christine Kirk-Kuwaye, GSO Advisor. Kaori is a doctoral candidate in Linguistics and received a $500 cash scholarship.
A1-A3 Category Finalist: Noah Jung, Computer Lab Monitor at Human Nutrition, Food and Animal Sciences. Nominated by Wayne Toma, IT Specialist. Noah is majoring in mechanical engineering and won a $250 cash scholarship.
A4-A7 Category Finalist: Nicole Kunihisa, Program Assistant & Graphic Artist at the Center for Career Development & Student Employment. Nominated by Myrtle Ching-Rappa, Executive Director and Noreen Okikawa, Director of University Student Employment. Nicole is majoring in Art and received a $250 cash scholarship.
Team Winner: The UHM Writing Center is the Student Employee Team of the Year 2009. They were nominated by Dr. Erica-Reynolds Clayton, Assistant Professor of English & Director of the Writing Center. Team members include: Anjoli Roy, Nicole Sawa, Mei Li Siaw, Amanda Cole, Becky Plas, Aiko Yamashiro, and Amy Goodman-Bide. The Writing Center is put on the President’s Trophy which is on display in the Center for Career Development & Student Employment lobby.
